Alonso was said to be packing his bags to join Barca in previous weeks.
But Barcelona are now focused on registering the players they signed this summer – instead of recruiting new stars, London reporter David Ornstein states.
The Catalan giants have even turned down the chance to bring him for free after Chelsea offered to add Alonso to the cash offer of £15m to sign Aubameyang.
