Barcelona have announced today the trigger of the latest of their financial levers.
Barca have sold 24.5% of Barça Studios to Orpheus Media, managed by Jaume Roures, an audiovisual producer with extensive experience in the creation of audiovisual and digital content, for an amount of 100 million euros.
Barça say, "This agreement complements what was already signed on July 29 with Socios.com and will serve to accelerate the growth of the Club's digital strategy, NFT and Web.3".
Barça thus adds more than 800 million euros after pulling their financial levers. Namely, €207.5 million for 10% of its audiovisual rights for the next 25 years. Another approximately €400 million (including capital gains) for another 15% of the audiovisual rights until 2047 (also sold to the Sixth Street fund) and about €200 million for 49% of Barça Studios.
