Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is said to have been rejected by Vitor Roque.
The youngster moved to Barcelona in the summer, despite being offered more money by City.
However, Mundo Deportivo states that the lure of the Nou Camp club was too much for him to turn down.
Guardiola is expressly said to have wanted to secure the 18-year-old striker.
Roque will be hoping that he can impress at Barca and kick start his career in the coming months.
He signed for Barca from Athletico Paranaense for a fee that could eventually rise to 52.5 million.
