Kota Kinabalu: Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah denied the authenticity of several posters circulating on social media that allegedly feature its candidates for the coming 17th State Election, describing them as fake and misleading.

Sabah Umno Information Chief Datuk Suhaimi Nasir said the viral posters have no connection whatsoever with BN, and are believed to be the work of irresponsible quarters attempting to confuse the public and disrupt the coalition’s election machinery.

“These attempts are clearly aimed at dividing BN and weakening our momentum. They know BN has a strong, disciplined, and well-organised team, with credible candidates and a high potential for victory,” he said.

Suhaimi emphasised that BN Sabah is fully prepared for the state election, with a line-up comprising 80 per cent new faces, representing young energy, professionalism and the people’s aspirations.

“With a combination of experienced leadership, structured strategy, and fresh energy, BN is confident of achieving an outstanding victory in PRN17,” he said.

He said BN would not be distracted by such tactics, calling the viral materials “nothing new.”“We are stronger than ever. BN will not be shaken by fake propaganda. Our focus remains on our work, our candidates, and the people,” Suhaimi said.

He urged the public not to be misled by fake news or recycled campaign materials, and to continue supporting BN as “the only coalition with proven leadership, stability and a track record of real development.”
