
Bas.MY Kota Kinabalu is now fully operational across all eight routes following the launch of six additional services on Aug 11.
The Sabah Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board said the first phase began on April 1 with routes S01 and S05, which recorded 194,265 passengers as of Aug 10.
The six new routes are S02, S03, S04, S06, S07 and S08, with 48 new buses connecting KK Sentral and Menggatal town to areas along all eight routes.
The service operates daily from 5.30am to 11pm at intervals of between 15 and 30 minutes, with the buses featuring air-conditioning, real-time GPS tracking, cashless payment, e-ticketing, CCTV and accessibility facilities.
The federal initiative under the Transport Ministry’s Stage Bus Service Transformation programme has an annual allocation of RM17.6 million, totalling RM88 million over five years, while 960 students, persons with disabilities and senior citizens have registered for free concession cards.
