MANILA, Philippines — The Batangas City Integrated High School suspended classes and on-site school activities on Monday, June 29, 2026, "until further notice" over "reported shooting threats."
"This precautionary measure is being implemented to ensure the safety and security of all learners, teaching and non-teaching personnel, parents, and other members of the school community. Everyone is advised not to enter or proceed to the school premises while the suspension remains in effect," the school's disaster risk reduction and management coordinator said in an announcement.
"The school administration is closely coordinating with the appropriate law enforcement authorities regarding the matter," it added.
The incident came a week after three students died and dozens were injured in a school shooting in Tacloban City.
