Kota Kinabalu: Chinese New Year stocks were destroyed in a fire that razed the Bataras Hypermarket at Jalan Rampayan, Kota Kinabalu, today.
Fortunately, no human casualties were reported in the fire which also destroyed a furniture store and a furniture-making outlet.
A Bataras official estimated losses to be in the millions.
“Only a few days left until Chinese New Year and all our goods are destroyed," rued the Bataras official.
