A SENIOR technician from Penang’s Bayan Lepas industrial zone has become an overnight multi-millionaire after winning RM10.63 million through the Da Ma Cai 1+3D Jackpot 1 draw last Saturday, but says he has no plans to change his modest lifestyle.
The winner, who is in his 50s, struck the jackpot worth RM10,627,852 after placing a System Bet 6 using a combination of numbers inspired by a visitor parking lot assigned to his father-in-law and the latter’s vehicle registration number.
According to Da Ma Cai, the man had organised a small birthday gathering for his father-in-law on June 6 and had secured a visitor parking space at his apartment in Bayan Lepas.
The parking system randomly allocated lot number “2555”, which he paired with his father-in-law’s car registration number “1181”, along with several numbers he regularly plays.
The simple decision proved life-changing as he landed the multi-million-ringgit prize.
Despite the windfall, the veteran technician said he intends to continue working and maintain his daily routine.
“Having worked in the industrial zone for so long, my job has supported me for half my life. My colleagues are like family, and I will continue working. My daily routine will not change,” he said.
He revealed that his first priority would be to settle the remaining mortgage on his apartment in Bayan Lepas, easing a financial burden he had carried for nearly three decades.
He also plans to establish education funds for his two school-going children and present his father-in-law with a generous angpow as a gesture of appreciation.
Coming from a humble background, the winner said he understood the struggles faced by low-income families and hoped to use part of his winnings to help others.
He has reportedly begun reaching out to several schools and orphanages in Penang with plans to support scholarships for students pursuing science, technology and engineering-related fields who are at risk of dropping out due to financial constraints.
“Heaven blessed me with this win not to become extravagant, but to free my family from financial worries and allow me to help those who are still struggling. I am still the same working-class man who clocks in and out every day,” he said.
A Da Ma Cai spokesperson congratulated the winner, describing his decision to continue working and support charitable causes as admirable.
The company also disclosed that another player won RM295,218 through HSSB36 under Jackpot 1 on the same night, while Jackpot 2, worth RM361,620, was shared among nine winners.
The jackpot win coincides with the celebrations marking Da Ma Cai’s 38th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of its dmcGO mobile betting application.
The company said customers and members of the public are encouraged to follow its official channels and the dmcGO app for updates on upcoming anniversary promotions and campaigns.
Da Ma Cai, a brand under Pan Malaysian Pools Sdn Bhd, said it continues to support educational and social welfare initiatives nationwide. Following the acquisition of the company by Jana Pendidikan Malaysia Sdn Bhd, net dividends received by the latter are channelled to The Community Chest to benefit communities across the country.
