Bayern Munich confirm contract talks with Harry Kane, who is settled in Germany and on track to break the Bundesliga single-season scoring record.

MUNICH: Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed the club is in negotiations to extend Harry Kane’s contract.

Speaking at a Bundesliga event, Eberl stated “We’re talking to Harry, we’re talking,” while acknowledging “Everyone knows at some point a decision has to be made.”

Club CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen emphasised there is no urgency, citing Kane’s comfort in Munich. “Harry has great confidence in us and he feels comfortable in Munich,” Dreesen said. “He and his family are settled in. Therefore we’ve got absolutely no reason to rush.”

The 32-year-old England captain, who joined from Tottenham in 2023, has a deal that runs until 2027. He ended his long trophy drought by winning the Bundesliga with Bayern in 2025.

Kane has been in phenomenal form, scoring 119 goals in 126 games for the German champions. This season alone, he has 34 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions.

With 21 goals in 19 Bundesliga matches, he is on course to challenge Robert Lewandowski’s single-season record of 41 goals. Kane previously said in October he could “definitely imagine” extending his stay in Germany.

Bayern currently lead the Bundesliga by eight points and are second in their Champions League group.
