Bayern Munich chairman Herbert Hainer admits Oliver Kahn didn't react calmly to his sacking yesterday.
Chief exec Kahn and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic were sacked barely hours before Bayern won the Bundesliga title.
Hainer said, "It's fair to say that the season didn't go as we wanted, especially in the second half. With that in mind, we spoke with the sporting directors and management about how we would deal with the warning signs.
"That's why we decided to go our separate ways with Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic. We have appointed Jan-Christian Dreesen as Oliver Kahn's successor, and I am delighted. We are still looking for a successor to the sporting director, I will not speculate with name."
If Salihamidzic "accepted very well" the board's decision, the same did not happen with the former German goalkeeper.
"Unfortunately, it did not go so well. He was very emotional and we did not reach an agreement for a friendly termination. On Friday we convened an extraordinary meeting with the management and decided to dismiss Oliver Kahn. Due to this situation, he did not go to Cologne on Saturday."
