Bayern Munich chiefs are scrambling to block Alphonso Davies' move to Real Madrid.

The Canada wing-back has agreed personal terms with Real Madrid this past week. He has a deal with Bayern to 2025.

Bayern chief exec Jan-Christian Dreesen said: "Naturally a player like him is one who has made excellent progress both in speed, but also in character. We are in negotiations with his agent, Christoph (Freund, director) is involved in this matter.

"Now Max (Eberl, sporting director of the club from March 1st) will also address the problem."

Eberl also stated: "I will try to continue the conversation and the negotiation, after which we will make a decision. However, we don't want to lose any player on a free transfer."
