Bayern Munich striker Sadio Mane has teased a move to Newcastle United.
Mane left Liverpool for Bayern last summer, but endured a difficult first season in Germany as he clashed with teammates and coaching staff.
Martin Callanan, originally from Newcastle and now a life peer in the House of Lords, is in Senegal this week and attended an EITI International alongside Mane.
He later posted to social media details of a discussion with Mane.
I'm in Senegal speaking at the EITI conference," he tweeted. Honoured to meet Sadio Mane in the hotel. I couldn't resist asking him about coming to Newcastle next season. His enigmatic reply: 'Never say never!'"
