BBC offered to remove contestant from MasterChef episodes in response to her objections to scandal

• MasterChef contestant Sarah Shafi claimed the BBC offered to edit her out of the show after she raised concerns about presenters John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
• Shafi stated on Newsnight that she felt pressured into accepting this "solution" and was "flabbergasted" by the offer, feeling she was being "silenced into extinction".
• Gregg Wallace was dismissed from the BBC after an independent report substantiated 45 allegations against him.
• John Torode was also fired following the upholding of a claim against him for using an "extremely offensive racist term".
