- Veteran radio presenter Paul Gambaccini, 77, has revealed he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in early 2025.
- Known as 'The Great Gambo', Gambaccini has been a broadcaster on BBC Radio since 1974, working across Radio 1, Radio 2, and Greatest Hits Radio.
- Despite the diagnosis, Gambaccini stated that 'life goes on normal' and he intends to continue hosting his shows on BBC Radio 2 and Greatest Hits Radio.
- He and his husband, Christopher Sherwood, are receiving support from the Alzheimer's Society, and Gambaccini expressed gratitude for the kindness he has received.
- The Alzheimer's Society hopes Gambaccini's decision to share his diagnosis will encourage others to recognise symptoms and seek early diagnosis for better treatment and support.
