BCDA remits P5.7B to Treasury

THE Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) on Thursday said it has remitted P5.7 billion to the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr), the amount of which will help fund infrastructure, social services, and military modernization.

It is 5 percent higher than the P5.45 billion in 2025.

“Every peso we remit translates to real improvements in people’s daily lives. This is how we make sure our work creates an impact that people can see and feel,” BCDA president and CEO Joshua Bingcang said, noting that the amount can build 330 kilometers of roads, 2,300 classrooms, 1,700 hospital beds or 3,800 housing units, while also supporting the modernization program of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

“Accountability is how we make sure public resources are protected and used for the benefit of every Filipino,” Bingcang added.

Of the total, P2.6 billion came from dividends, 18.18 percent higher than the P2.2 billion in 2025, or 61 percent of BCDA’s net earnings, exceeding the 50-percent minimum required under Republic Act 7656 or the Dividend Law, the BCDA said.

The remaining P3.09 billion came from asset disposition proceeds and will be distributed to beneficiary agencies, with a significant share allocated to the AFP modernization program.

“BCDA is the GOCC (government-owned and controlled corporation) that goes beyond generating dividends. It is a true developer of progress, creating the platforms and jobs that uplift millions of Filipinos across the country,” said Finance Secretary Frederick Go.

Of the total dividends, BCDA said P300 million has been allocated to help the national government cushion the impact of rising fuel prices on vulnerable sectors.

The BCDA also remitted P25 million in guarantee fees to the BTr, linked to the government’s loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency for the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway.
