Now that 2024 is officially here, everyone is now busy in setting their goals and aspirations for the new year. On top of that, many would also wish that the new year would be “nice” to them.

However, this oft-quote phrase usually rings hollow as the months go by and people eventually lose sight of what’s more important in life such as being kind and compassionate to others.

M’sian tells others to show kindness in the new year

Taking to TikTok to express how he really felt about the phrase, the OP named Peruz starts off by saying “2024 please be nice” before diving straight into a no-holds barred ‘rant’ over it.

2024 please be nice to me. Bulls*it, you’re the one who should be nice to others first. Your own behavior is terrible. Fix yourself first before wishing 2024 to be nice to you!

‘Please be nice, please be nice…ridiculous!” he mumbled under his breath as he zoomed the camera close to his face as if to paint his point across more effectively.

OP explains intention behind video

Speaking to WeirdKaya, Peruz said that while the video was purely made for entertainment purposes, there was an observation he had made which attributed to the video’s making.

I saw that every new year, people always wish that the year will be nice to them. I personally think if you want to have a great year, you have to be nice to others too.

“Aside from being kinder, I also hope everyone will focus more on themselves and the goals they have set for 2024,” he said.

‘I feel attacked’
