Bank Islam is consolidating its digital banking services under BIMB Mobile, with Be U closing on 31 July 2026 as the platform is phased out. Existing users can continue banking through BIMB Mobile from 1 August 2026, which Bank Islam says offers more features and services than Be U. New Be U registrations have been stopped since 24 April 2026, and existing users have until the end of July to move their funds and update their payment arrangements.

Your Savings Won’t Move Automatically

Your Be U savings balance won’t carry over to BIMB Mobile on its own. To move your funds, you’ll need to register as a BIMB Mobile user first, then initiate account closure through the Be U app and transfer your balance to your Bank Islam account.

If you already hold a Bank Islam account linked to BIMB Mobile, the process is straightforward. If you don’t, you’ll need to set one up before the transfer can go through.

Any Nest savings will automatically move into your Qard Savings Account-i or Be U Awfar Account ahead of closure, so no separate step is needed for those.

Awfar Profit Has An Earlier Cut-Off

If you hold a Be U Awfar account, profit payments stop on 16 July 2026, two weeks before the app closes. From 17 July onwards, any remaining balance will be treated as Qard, meaning no profit is paid on it. The July 2026 draw will also be the final Awfar draw for Be U accounts, with eligibility based on the average balance maintained between mid-June and mid-July 2026.

Moving your balance to a Bank Islam Awfar account before 16 July keeps the profit arrangement intact.

Your Debit Card Stops Working After 31 July

Your Be U Visa Debit Card-i won’t work for payments, withdrawals, or online transactions after 31 July 2026. Unlinking it from connected services like Google Pay and cancelling any active subscriptions charged to it before that date avoids disruption to those payments.

Recurring transfers and automatic payments linked to your Be U account will also stop processing after 31 July, and you’ll need to set them up again via BIMB Mobile.

If you apply for a Bank Islam Debit Card-i through BIMB Mobile and don’t already hold one, the issuance fee will be charged when you apply and credited back to your Bank Islam savings account afterwards. You don’t pay anything extra to switch.

Term Deposit-i Holders Have A Longer Window

Deposits maturing on or before 31 July 2026 will have their principal and profit credited to your nominated withdrawal account as usual. Deposits maturing after that date remain protected and will appear in BIMB Mobile on a view-only basis.

If your Term Deposit-i extends past the deadline and no payout instructions have been provided, the account stays dormant until you contact Bank Islam Customer Care. The agreed profit rate and maturity date won’t change. Choosing to close the deposit early counts as a premature withdrawal, and no profit will be paid.

BIMB Mobile By Bank Islam Offers More Than Be U

BIMB Mobile carries a broader set of features than Be U. From the app, you can manage wealth accounts including Tabung Haji, SSPN Prime, and ASNB, pay zakat and sadaqa, apply for financing or a credit card, and set up DuitNow autodebit. A kill switch lets you freeze your account immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

If you haven’t moved your funds before 31 July 2026, your balance remains safeguarded but your account will be frozen for transactions. If you register on BIMB Mobile afterwards, your Be U accounts will appear in view-only mode and you’ll need to contact Bank Islam Customer Care to withdraw or move the remaining balance.

For help during the transition, you can reach Be U Community Support or Bank Islam Customer Care directly. Both channels remain open until 30 September 2026, after which all support moves to Bank Islam Customer Care only.
