Beach Clean Up Day at Shangri-La Rasa Ria collects over 200kg of recyclables

TUARAN: Shangri-La Rasa Ria, Kota Kinabalu, in collaboration with Borneo Lab+ Kinabalu Art Boutique, successfully hosted the Beach Clean Up Day program at the resort’s beachfront on Saturday (20 Sept).

The initiative drew 49 participants, including volunteers from Politeknik Kota Kinabalu, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), and the Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA) Sabah.

Representatives from PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) Malaysia were also present to support the program.

Participants engaged in beach cleaning, environmental awareness sessions, and bottle cleaning activities for recycling purposes.

More than 200 kilograms of glass bottles were collected and processed for recycling, highlighting the positive impact of the collaborative effort.

The resort said the program complemented its ongoing sustainability initiatives, while also raising awareness of the shared responsibility in preserving the environment for future generations.
