With the weather heating up these past few days, we were on the hunt for something cold and refreshing to cool down. Our search led us to Kepong Baru, where we decided to check out May-May Ais Kacang, a spot known for its icy desserts.
Upon arriving at May-May Ais Kacang, we were eager to discover what made this place a go-to for locals seeking a sweet escape from the heat. Curious about their offerings, we asked one of the staff members what their most popular item was. Without hesitation, she recommended their best-seller: the classic ABC (Ais Batu Campur).
But that’s not all they offer. May-May Ais Kacang has a variety of other delicious desserts that people rave about, including Mango Longan, Bobo Cha Cha, Red Bean Coconut Milk, and more. With so many tempting choices, it was hard to decide, but in the end, we stuck with the classic ABC.
As we watched the ABC being prepared, we were pleasantly surprised by its size. The Ais Kacang was tall, colorful, and loaded with toppings—a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. Given its generous portion, we decided to share one bowl between us.
The dessert was topped with a liberal amount of brown sugar, making it quite sweet initially. However, as the ice began to melt, the sweetness mellowed out, creating a perfectly balanced treat that was both refreshing and satisfying.
The only downside is that the environment was as hot as the weather outside. But that didn’t stop us from enjoying our Ais Kacang. If you’re in the Kepong Baru area and feeling the heat, don’t miss out on this cooling dessert. It’s a delicious way to beat the heat, even if you have to endure a little warmth while you enjoy it.
Overall, we gave May-May Ais Kacang a solid 8 out of 10. The Ais Kacang was exactly what we needed to cool down and satisfy our sweet tooth. So, if you’re looking for a refreshing treat in Kepong Baru, this is the place to be.
