BEAUFORT: A semi-permanent house was completely destroyed and a male occupant suffered burns in a fire at Kampung Suasa on Tuesday.
Beaufort Fire and Rescue chief Ishak Jabas said several vehicles were also damaged in the 3.15pm incident.
Firefighters arrived at 3.47pm to find the 30'x40' house 90pc destroyed. Vehicles lost in the fire included two Proton cars, a Nissan Vanette, and a Modenas Kriss motorcycle, while another motorcycle was partially burnt.
The injured man, Sailin Kanalan, was hurt while trying to rescue others and was treated at Padas Damit Clinic.
The cause and estimated losses are still under investigation.
