Former Feyenoord coach Mario Been can see Hakim Ziyech returning to Ajax.
The midfielder is up for sale at Chelsea and saw a move to Al-Nassr earlier this summer fall through over medical concerns.
A return to Ajax has been mooted, though he will have to accept a cut on his 5m-a-year wages.
Been told Voetbalpraat: "He had the chance abroad, but was rejected (at Al-Nass). Perhaps lurking are more top European clubs and Ajax says to him: 'We will just get you and see how and what. Maybe you get paid per game according to your fitness?'"
Been also said: "Is that a barrier for Ziyech to let it collapse? The salary?
"He seems like a football fan. Who wants to play football again to revive his career. Maybe he can take another step after that."
