Former Bournemouth shot stopper Asmir Begovic has praised the club's togetherness.

The ex-Cherries star, who made 122 appearances for the Premier League side, was asked about them easily avoiding relegation.

At one stage, Bournemouth were odds on to go down, but Begovic says that he always believed they would survive.

Departing Everton keeper Begovic told BBC Radio Solent: Very impressed, but at the same time not surprised.

It's a really good club. It's a club that is run really well and it's a very together club.

There's a really good culture of togetherness there. No matter what happens, they help each other through situations. It's great to see.

Gary O'Neil is up there for manager of the year, for sure.

I knew him from my playing days, we worked together a couple of years ago, so it's no surprise to me he's becoming a top manager and having really good success.

So I'm not surprised by it, just really pleased to see it all."
