Beloved actor set to return this week to fan-favorite CBS soap opera

A beloved character on The Bold and the Beautiful will return to TV screens this week.

Dick Christie will once again appear as Charlie Webber during the week of May 18, according to Soap Opera Digest. The actor was last seen on the long-running soap opera in April 2025.

The Bold and the Beautiful, which aired its first episode in 1987, focuses on the Forrester family and their positioning in the fashion world as rival businesses come into play. Christie’s character Webber is the security chief of Forrester Creations, the family’s fashion house.

Webber has famously been romantically involved with Pamela Douglas, played by Alley Mills. The two were engaged in 2018 but have not made it to the altar.

Christie, 77, began appearing on the show in 2013 and has since appeared in over 200 episodes. He told Soap Opera Digest that his character “considers himself to be the renaissance man of security guards.”

“He’s got instant total recall of any diamond heist that happened in the last 100 years and can detail it chapter and verse, whether you want to hear it or not,” Christie continued. “If you had to describe him in a sentence, it would be, ‘A cross between Cliff the mailman on Cheers and any of Patrick Warburton’s [Family Guy] characters.’”

Fans were thrilled to hear the news of Christie’s return.

One wrote in the comments section of a fan account’s Instagram post announcing the news: “Great I have been missing his comedy on the show.”

“Great to hear! He makes things fun,” another wrote while a third called him “most like able person on that show.”

In addition to his arc on The Bold and the Beautiful, Christie’s credits include the 1980s series Small Wonder, Days of Our Lives, Who’s the Boss? and Breaking Bad.

The Bold and the Beautiful has seen a slew of celebrities come and go since its inception. Betty White, Mario Lopez, Usher and Denise Richards are just a few of the dozens of stars who have appeared either for a single episode or a multi-season arc.

The current cast includes Jacqueline MacInnes Wood as Steffy Forrester, Katherine Kelly Lang as Brooke Logan Spencer, John McCook as Eric Forrester, Thorsten Kaye as Ridge Forrester and Heather Tom as Katie Logan.
