Berjaya Times Square Theme Park launches ‘Kart Wars’, an indoor electric go-kart experience combining real-world racing with projection-mapped virtual power-ups.
PETALING JAYA: Berjaya Times Square Theme Park has unveiled a revamped go-kart attraction featuring an interactive, gaming-inspired racing experience aimed at bringing arcade-style combat racing into the real world.
Known as Kart Wars, the new attraction at Basement 3 of Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur combines electric go-kart racing with projection mapping and augmented tracking technology.
The revamped arena features a neon-themed cyber-circuit and offers visitors two racing modes — Apex Predator, focused on conventional high-speed racing, and Kart Wars, an interactive combat-style experience.
Apex Predator allows drivers to race next-generation electric karts at speeds of up to 35kph on an indoor circuit designed to test steering, braking and drifting skills.
The Kart Wars mode, meanwhile, uses digital projections on the track to create virtual power-ups, including bombs, shields and turbo boosts.
Drivers can steer over the projected power-ups to activate them. A turbo boost provides additional acceleration, while being hit by an opponent’s virtual bomb temporarily slows the kart.

Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur chief executive officer Tan Tee Ming said the attraction was designed to combine digital gaming with a physical experience.
“By introducing the Kart Wars concept to our Go-Kart BTSKL, we are bridging the gap between digital gaming and physical reality. It’s chaotic, it’s competitive, and most importantly, it’s accessible to families, friends, and corporate teams looking for a totally unique thrill in the heart of KL.”
The facility uses fully electric karts, which the operator said provide instant acceleration without exhaust fumes, making them suitable for an indoor environment.
Each kart is also equipped with a digital dashboard displaying information such as the driver’s race position, lap times and available power-ups.
The attraction officially opened to the public on Aug 6, with promotional tickets priced at RM50 for a 10-minute experience during the opening month. The promotion allows visitors to experience both racing modes.
Drivers must be at least 130cm tall and wear closed-toe shoes.
The attraction is located at Berjaya Times Square Theme Park in Kuala Lumpur.
