In the enchanting world of religious sensitivity, Berry's Cake House stumbled onto the stage like a tone-deaf actor in a poorly written play, with Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg swooping in as the unexpected hero to unmask the absurdity of Peninsular Malaysia's religious extremism.
As Berry's stirred a tempest in a teacup with its misguided circular, Minister Mohd Na’im Mokhtar and JAKIM engaged in a hasty performance of damage control.
Strangely, other bakeries refrained from issuing similarly perplexing directives, leaving us to wonder if Berry's was auditioning for a role as the unwitting villain.

Abang Jo, the Muslim voice of reason, took center stage, defying divisive politics embodied by the ever-persistent Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Mahathir's attempts to cling to relevance post-electoral defeat resemble a fading star desperately clutching at the vanishing spotlight.
Amid police reports and raised eyebrows over selective summoning, the theatricality of justice unfolds. Lim Kit Siang faces scrutiny while Mahathir, with matching remarks, slips through the cracks—an illustration of fairness playing hooky.
Mat Sabu's pragmatic perspective, acknowledging demographic reality, stands in stark contrast to futile attempts to inflame racial sentiments for political gain. The notion of a non-Malay Prime Minister remains a captivating distraction, akin to a subplot that never quite makes it to the main act.
Under Abang Jo's guidance, Sarawak has the chance to be a beacon of inclusivity, steering clear of the melodrama tarnishing the nation's unity.
The Christmas cake fiasco, a cautionary tale, should prompt Malaysians to prioritize genuine harmony over scripted controversies—a resolution fit for a grand finale in the theatre of unity.
Happy Holidays to all Malaysians.
