PARTI Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has refuted claims that its Supreme Leadership Council (MPT) meeting on 4 November discussed the possibility of reinstating sacked or suspended members.
Bersatu Information Chief Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz said reports quoting unnamed party sources alleging that the issue had been tabled were inaccurate and misleading.
“With reference to the news headline ‘Bersatu gives second chance to expelled, suspended leaders’ published on 6 November 2025, I wish to clarify that such a matter was never discussed during the MPT meeting on 4 November,” he said in a statement on Thursday.
“The report citing an alleged ‘internal source’ claiming that the matter was raised in the meeting is false and misleading,” he added.
Tun Faisal said the party’s disciplinary and appeal processes are clearly outlined under its constitution.
“According to Clause 22.6, any member found guilty and penalised by the Disciplinary Board may submit an appeal to the Appeals Board within the stipulated period,” he explained.
“The Appeals Board will then review and decide on the appeal in accordance with the powers vested in it,” he said.
Bersatu has recently been grappling with internal rifts following the controversy surrounding several leaders accused of signing statutory declarations urging President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to step down.
The dispute led to the sacking of Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan and the suspension of Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal for one term.
Both leaders have since criticised the party leadership and questioned the Disciplinary Board’s decision, with Wan Ahmad Fayhsal alleging that Secretary-General Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin was the real target of the actions.
On 1 November, the media reported that 16 Bersatu MPs had written to Muhyiddin expressing concern over the party’s internal turmoil and describing the disciplinary measures as unwise.
Tun Faisal reiterated that any matters involving party membership would continue to follow due process.
