Bersatu to use own logo if not granted permission to use PN logo

BERSATU will use the party logo if it does not receive permission to use the Perikatan Nasional (PN) logo to contest in the Johor State Election (PRN).

Bersatu President, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, said the matter would be decided during the PN Supreme Leadership Council meeting in Kuala Lumpur.

The former PN Chairman said the decision would be made by consensus in the meeting.

“Someone asked me what logo to use. We want to use the PN logo, but if the PN Chairman, Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, does not want to sign, how can we proceed?

“PN must have a letter of authorisation,” he said.

He made this statement while speaking at the Launch of the 16th Johor State Election Machinery (PRN) in Bakri last night.

Also present were Bersatu Vice President, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu; Bersatu Vice President, Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin; Bersatu Secretary-General, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and Bersatu Johor Chairman, Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal.

Muhyiddin said Bersatu has numerous candidates to present, and the party needs to contest many seats so that it can form a government if it wins the Johor PRN this time.

“If 10 seats are not enough to form a government, there needs to be 28 plus one seat to form a government,” he said.

On June 16, Muhyiddin was reported to have said that Bersatu had decided to remain in PN and would use the PN logo in the Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections.

However, the next day, the statement was contradicted by PAS, who described Muhyiddin as hasty.

PAS Vice President Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah was quoted as saying that the power of attorney or letter of authorisation regarding the use of the PN logo in the state elections must be signed by the PN Chairman, not the party president. – June 22, 2026
