Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Association of Umrah and Hajj Travel Agents (Papuh) reminded those who wish to perform the Umrah not to be easily deceived by questionable package offers.

Its Chairman Nor Azmi Abi Shafian said the floor price for Umrah packages set by the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry (Motac) is capped at RM6,900 per person.

“Besides ensuring that the company has a licence and is registered with Motac, the congregation also needs to be careful with the price of the package offered, especially ridiculously cheap ones.

“The price of goods is rising and the ringgit is falling, how can you perform Umrah at an absurd price? For the Umrah package, the floor price has been set and so far as we know Motac maintains it at RM6,900 per person,” he said, after attending the association’s second bi-annual meeting recently.
