PETALING JAYA: The domestic trade and cost of living ministry has urged consumers to be wary of scammers selling cooking oil packaged in 1kg polybags online.
In a statement, the ministry said it had received many complaints from people claiming to have been scammed while trying to purchase the cooking oil through social media or e-commerce platforms.
It added that the packets of cooking oil were being sold for less than the subsidised price of RM2.50.
The ministry said it had formed a special unit under its enforcement division to keep an eye out for these activities and to take the necessary action.
