1. Gamcheon Culture Village

Formed by pastel-coloured houses built in staircase fashion on the foothills of a coastal mountain, Gamcheon Culture Villiage has earned its nickname as the "Machu Picchu of Busan." Nadhir & Emyra enjoyed exploring the many alleys that cut through this village, vibrantly decorated with paintings. BTS fans will know that this is the hometown of their idols, Jungkook and Jimin. In Gamcheon, there is a mesmerising mural of the pair, painted to honour them – don’t miss it!

2. Songdo Skywalk

At the eastern side of Songdo Beach is the Songdo Skywalk, a bridge-like glass floor path built above the ocean, spanning 365 meters and giving visitors the exciting experience of walking above splashing waves. The path is connected to the small Turtle Island, which commemorates the love story between the daughter of the sea dragon and a fisherman in a local legend. From the Skywalk, you can get a panoramic view of the majestic ocean, the quaint little lighthouse, and a restored diving platform in the middle of the sea. It’s the perfect place for a casual stroll by yourself, or with someone special *wink*.

3. BUSAN X the SKY

BUSAN X the SKY is an observatory with cafes, restaurants, art galleries and souvenir shops. From the 100th floor of the sky observatory, Nadhir & Emyra relished in immensely breathtaking views of the ocean, mountain ranges and famous landmarks. Fans of the romantic Now, We Are Breaking Up (2021) drama starring Song Hye-Kyo will be glad to hang out at X the Sky, a restaurant used as one of the filming locations.

4. Jagalchi Market

This largest seafood market in South Korea is perfect for indulging in fresh eats, including live octopus, fishcake soup, and spiced crab meat. You can purchase fresh seafood from the stalls and bring it to one of the restaurants to be cooked. If you’re lucky, the bubbly ajummas (aunties) will entice you to try some free samples. There is also a seafood buffet on the 5th floor where you can help yourself to a wide variety of snow crabs, prawns, clams, and more.

5. Haeundae Beach & Haeundae Blueline Park

The famous white-sand Haeundae Beach is a scenic spot for Korean beach festivals, breathtaking sunsets, sunbathing, beachside bars, and swimming. Emyra took lots of photos here, for memories’ sake. You’ll also get a chance to stop by Haeundae Blueline Park, a coastal train station for tourists where Nadhir rode one of the monorail-like Sky Capsules that travel along the coast with incredible sea views.

Tip: Nearby here is the Haeundae Cine Street, which features handprints of Korean celebrities and photo-ops, giving fans a chance to spot their idols’ presence.

6. Skyline Luge

If you’re looking to add some thrill to your Busan holiday, try some downhill kart riding at Skyline Luge, like Nadhir did, calling it “adrenaline-filled fun.” The attraction features four tracks with curves, tunnels, and built-in cameras to capture your smile and various expressions. You’ll reach the starting point by taking a sky ride lift overlooking the lush Gijang-gun county, and then slide down on one of the luge carts at thrilling (but safe) speeds.

7. Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

Rebuilt in the 1930s after it was destroyed in the war, the Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is a rare find set near rocky coastlines, where you can feel the sea breeze as you stroll along temple features like a wishing pond, mesmerizing Buddhist figures, mini bamboo forests, peaceful shrines, and majestic pagodas. Culture enthusiasts like Emyra will find serenity at this enchanting temple by the sea.
