KUALA LUMPUR: Berjaya Food Bhd’s (BFood) net profit for the first quarter of financial year 2024 ended Sept 30, 2023 (1Q FY2024) declined to RM19.03 million from RM34.70 million recorded in 1Q FY2023.

Revenue slipped to RM278.53 million from RM283.05 million previously, the group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

BFood said the marginal drop in revenue was mainly due to lower sales recorded by the group’s Kenny Rogers Roasters’ operations in Malaysia, while the lower net profit was mainly due to the margin compression from inflationary cost pressure.

The board has declared a first interim share dividend of one treasury share for every 100 ordinary shares held in respect of financial year ending June 30, 2024.

“The first interim share dividend is equivalent to 0.44 sen per share based on the company’s existing ordinary shares, and the total dividend declared for the financial period ended Sept 30, 2023 will amount to about RM7.72 million, to be credited on Dec 29, 2023.

“The entitlement date has been fixed on Dec 14, 2023,” it said.

The board of directors also expect all the operating companies within the group to remain on track for the remaining quarters of the financial year ending June 30, 2024. - Bernama
