
Kota Kinabalu: The Sessions Court dismissed the bail application by a 34-year-old mother charged with attempting to kill her eight-year-old son.
Judge Ummu Kalthom Abdul Samad made the order against Jurainah Guahil who applied for bail through her lawyer on Monday.
The court further ordered Jurainah to be remanded pending the disposal of her case and fixed Oct 24 for mention to fix the trial date.
Jurainah is accused of committing the offence on April 26, at 1.30pm at a house in Kg. Muhibbah, Kundasang.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Siti Hajar Mazlan appeared for the prosecution while Jurainah was represented by counsel Ariel Dasan.
In the same court, a 57-year-old man charged with committing physical sexual harassment against his grandniece will know his fate on Aug 25.
The court ordered the defence to file reply submissions on or before June 26.
The man is accused of committing the offence by caressing the eight-year-old girl’s private part in May 19, 2019 at a house in Kundasang.
The offence under Section 14(1)(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 carries a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping, on conviction.
Counsel Datuk Bernard J. Dalinting defended the man whose bail was extended.
