Bidor chopper crash: Pilot’s body claimed by wife

PETALING JAYA: The remains of the 58-year-old pilot who perished in a helicopter crash in Chikus Forest Reserve in Bidor last week was claimed by his wife today, NST reports.

The wife in her 50s arrived at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) in Ipoh, Perak at about 10.40am.

CAAM chief executive officer Datuk Captain Chester Voo had said a helicopter lost contact with the Kuala Lumpur Air Traffic Control Centre at 12.16pm.

The helicopter took off from the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang, in Selangor at 11.37am on Sunday for a private flight, and was scheduled to land at 12.37pm at the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport here.

A post-mortem conducted on the pilot on Sept 13 revealed that his death was due to head injuries.
