Arsenal are preparing to part company with 72 million club record signing Nicolas Pepe.

The winger, who is on loan at Nice, is not in the plans of coach Mikel Arteta.

A signing made under Unai Emery, Pepe has failed to live up to the hype since his arrival at the club.

Now The Sun states that Arsenal will try their best to move Pepe on in the summer.

The winger does have a year left on his 140,000-a-week contract, with no club said to have serious interest in signing him.

Arsenal may even have to contend with letting him leave on a free transfer to secure his exit.

They are also ready to listen to offers for Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Sambi Lokonga, Nuno Tavares, Pablo Mari, Cedric Soares and Alex Runarsson but know that few of that list are likely to attract substantial bids.

And there is also uncertainty regarding the long-term futures of Kieran Tierney, Rob Holding and Folarin Balogun as Arteta prepares for another summer upgrade to prepare his squad for a return to the Champions League next season.
