Billie Eilish set for big screen acting debut

• Grammy winner Billie Eilish is set to make her film debut in an adaptation of Sylvia Plath’s novel, The Bell Jar.
• The film will be written and directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Sarah Polley, known for her work on Women Talking.
• Eilish previously acted in the 2023 satirical miniseries Swarm, where she portrayed a women’s empowerment cult leader.
• The Bell Jar, Sylvia Plath's only novel, is a semi-autobiographical story following a gifted student's struggle with identity and descent into depression.
• Previous attempts to adapt The Bell Jar for the screen have had mixed success, including a 1979 film and a shelved project intended to star Dakota Fanning.
