APAD issues a show-cause letter to Billion Stars Express after a viral video showed dangerous driving by one of its bus drivers, with investigations ongoing.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) has issued a show-cause letter to Billion Stars Express Sdn Bhd.

This action follows a widely circulated video depicting dangerous driving by one of the company’s express bus drivers.

APAD stated it views the incident with utmost seriousness. The agency emphasised that such behaviour could endanger passengers and other road users.

Investigations are being carried out on the express bus with registration number BSB 4999. The probe is under the Land Public Transport Act 2010, including sections related to driver conduct and passenger safety priorities.

The investigation also involves Clause 7 of the General Conditions of Service Level Requirements. This clause requires licensed operators to ensure their employees maintain proper conduct while on duty.

APAD issued the show-cause letter on April 16 under Section 27 of Act 715. This section empowers the agency to take action against licence holders found breaching operating conditions.

The public can lodge complaints about public transport misconduct through official channels. Available options include the Transport Ministry’s hotline at 1-800-88-7723 or a dedicated WhatsApp number.
