Kota Kinabalu: A maritime vocational education base is to be set up in the region soon with Sabah as its primary centre.
This was envisioned with Bimp-Eaga Maritime Academy and Fujian Chuanzheng Communications College recently agreeing to cooperate in enhancing professional development, devise curriculum standards and organise lecturers’ training programmes as well as skills training for the academy.
The move to establish the vocational education base in the Brunei Darussalam–Indonesia–Malaysia–Philippines East Asean Growth Area (Bimp-Eaga) is aimed at producing skilled human capital in the maritime industry to serve mainly the region.
