PETALING JAYA: Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd has been appointed as the approved port operator of Bintulu Port for 30 years.
Bintulu Port Authority (Sarawak), with the approval of the Sarawak state Cabinet, made the appointment under a notification published in the Sarawak Government Gazette dated Sept 10.
The appointment took effect on Sept 1, 2026 and will expire on Aug 31, 2056, according to a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd will operate the port under the state regulatory framework and the terms of a Heads of Agreement signed with the Sarawak state government and Bintulu Port Authority.
The agreement will remain in force until a Port Operation Concession Agreement is executed, which will then govern the company’s operation of Bintulu Port.
Bintulu Port Holdings said it will make further announcements on material developments, including the execution of the concession agreement.
