The buzz around the revamp of the BJP organisation intensified on Monday as party president Nitin Nabin’s Punjab visit was cut short.

According to the schedule, Nabin was to return to Chandigarh from Ludhiana on Monday and pay a courtesy visit to Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria.

Then Nabin was scheduled to have dinner at Punjab BJP chief Kewal Dhillon’s Sector 9 house in Chandigarh with some eminent people of the state before returning to Delhi at night.

But Nabin will not visit Chandigarh now. He will cut short his Punjab stay and head back to Delhi from Ludhiana on Monday afternoon.

Some organisational review meetings are said to be scheduled in Delhi later on Monday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is back from his G7 engagements and is also free after the International Yoga Day celebrations in Kolkata on Sunday.

A meeting of the BJP and RSS on June 15 had broadly endorsed the re-organisation plans.

A final nod from the PM was awaited since he was away for G7.

A revamp of the BJP party is overdue and is expected to be announced any day now.

Meanwhile, Nabin met leading agricultural scientist Sardara Singh Johl in Ludhiana on Monday and discussed Punjab’s agrarian crisis.
