A man and his son were killed in a blaze when their grocery shop located in Pathankot’s Bhoa village caught fire due to a short circuit late on Wednesday night. The deceased have been identified as Radhe Sham Sharma (62), and his son Dikshit Sharma (28). Eyewitnesses said power supply was fluctuating since morning. “Residents living nearby tried their best to douse the flames. They had to break the doors of the shop to extricate the bodies,” said a police officer.
The bodies were taken to the Civil Hospital here for a post-mortem examination.
