According to a report by Sin Chew Daily, it is understood that the mother-daughter duo’s hut was situated quite a distance from the main road, and that they relied on relief supplies provided by the authorities.

The mother explained that her daughter had died about 6 days ago, and the body was emitting a foul smell due to decomposition.
