BEAUFORT: The Blood Donation Campaign and Meet-up with Clients Day programme were held, here, Thursday, in conjunction with the 217th Police Day celebrations.

District Police Chief DSP Ismail Abdullah said the campaign went well with encouraging attendance of the public was very encouraging.

He said the programme exceeded target of 100 donors when 180 people came, with 135 bled for a good cause and the rest were rejected due to various health risks.

“The donation drive collected 135 pints for the hospital Blood Transfusion Unit which exceeded our target of 100 pints,” Ismail said.

The Meet-up with Clients Day also received a very good response from the public who wanted to voice their problems and suggestions to the Police.

Ismail said they solved several problems faced by clients.

“We improve police service for the well-being of the public.

“We also give advice to the community on anything in order to make this district crime-free,” he said.
