BARISAN Nasional (BN) will focus on local community issues in its campaign for the Nenggiri seat, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamid said.
The BN chairman said the BN machinery, with the assistance of Pakatan Harapan (PH), will visit all 20 polling district centres to engage with the local community.

“Whether the voters are from the traditional villages, Orang Asli community, Kelantan South Development Authority, or Felda, we will do something excellent in this by-election,” said Zahid today after nomination closed, at Kompleks Perdana.
“…if there are any national issues, they will be explained by the party machinery at every level."
The by-election is a straight fight between BN’s Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani and Perikatan Nasional candidate Mohd Rizwadi Ismail.
The two will campaign for the next two weeks before polling day on August 17.
The Nenggiri by-election was called after Kelantan Speaker Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah declared the seat, held by Mohd Azizi Abu Naim, vacant.
The electoral roll for the Nenggiri state seat has 20,245 registered voters.
Zahid was confident the BN candidate would live up to expectations.
“We are aware that voters below 40 years old are the majority in Nenggiri, and God willing, he (Azmawi) will not only represent the young voters in the constituency, but the younger generation in Gua Musang and Kelantan.
“God willing, under Ku Li’s leadership, we are confident that BN and Umno supporters will continue backing us.” – August 3, 2024.
