To an ordinary Malaysian, this statement is not only a slap to the face of Pakatan Harapan, but also a clear statement, not intent, that BN/UMNO is telling PH that the remainder of the period of their collaboration in the Madani government is no longer tenable and any continuance is merely a lame duck administration.
Announcing plans to return to sole power or leadership while still actively operating in an active coalition and power-sharing agreement obviously undermine whatever mutual trust that exists between BN and PH and their other partners in the Madani government.
This is an act of bad faith.
It breaks the fragile trust required to pass laws and run a country.
Damn to all those bills that are supposed to be tabled at the present and ongoing sitting of the Parliament.
Beneath the surface, it is not a surprise if all daily cooperation stops.
Government ministers from both sides will block each other's bills, subtly, stalling the country's progress
It might not even see the lights of the day.

It is not a surprise that this statement by the President of BN/UMNO has, by now, disrupt whatever stability of the remaining term.
It is not a matter of time but when BN/UMNO will pull their support.
This immediately collapses the government and forces an early vote before the term is finished.
Friction was already evident.
E.g the tiff between the Johor MB and PMX on the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) Master Plan.
Already, efforts are now being actively initiated to blame PH, publicly, for failing the people. This gives BN/UMNO a righteous excuse to walk away and demand a fresh election.
When that happens, hopefully, voters who are fence sitters and voting for the 1st time in the 16th GE will be able to assess who destabilizes its own government to grab power.
