BN will honour Negeri Sembilan mandate with a stable, people-first administration, says Datuk Seri Dr Zambry.
SEREMBAN: Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said the trust placed in the coalition by voters in the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election would be honoured through a responsible administration that prioritises the people while focusing on stability and the state’s development.
He said BN would continue to uphold moderate politics, strengthen unity among the various communities, practise good governance and work with all parties.
“This is to ensure Negeri Sembilan continues to remain a stable, developed, inclusive and prosperous state for the present and future generations,” he said in a statement today.
Zambry also expressed BN’s appreciation to voters across Negeri Sembilan for the support, confidence and trust they had placed in the coalition during the state election.
“BN’s victory is not merely a recognition, but also a great responsibility that must be carried out with full integrity, accountability and sincerity in serving all the people of Negeri Sembilan, regardless of race, religion or background,” he said.
He said the election outcome reflected the people’s continued confidence in a political approach that was moderate, stable and based on unity.
“The results of the Negeri Sembilan state election last night show that the people of the state continue to place their confidence in a moderate, stable and unity-based political approach,” he said.
Zambry also thanked party members, election workers, volunteers and supporters for their hard work and contributions, which led to BN’s success in the state election.
The 16th Negeri Sembilan state election saw BN win 18 state seats, while Perikatan Nasional (PN) secured seven seats, enabling the two coalitions to form the state government with a two-thirds majority.
By comparison, the 15th Negeri Sembilan state election saw Pakatan Harapan (PH) win 17 seats, followed by BN with 14 seats and PN with five, resulting in the formation of a PH-BN state administration.
The Negeri Sembilan Legislative Assembly was dissolved on June 5 after BN Negeri Sembilan withdrew its support for then Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun on April 27, paving the way for the state election.
