Boat with RM100k goods seized in Kudat

KUDAT: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) here seized a fishing boat loaded with controlled goods (pic) without a valid permit off Kudat waters on Saturday.

Kudat Maritime Zone Director Maurice Grenville Abeyeratne said their patrol team intercepted the boat around 8.30am at 0.5 nautical miles east of the Kudat Marina estuary.

Two locals, aged 28 and 15, were found onboard the boat, which contained eight barrels of petrol and five gas cylinders.

The seizure amounted to RM100,000.
