(UPDATE) THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) delivered its strongest performance last month, collecting P86.4 billion and surpassing its target by P7.8 billion in April.
It was the highest monthly collection in the bureau's history, beating its P78.6 billion target by nearly 10 percent. Year on year, the April haul jumped by P11.699 billion, or 15.7 percent.
It pushed the agency’s January-to-April collections to P325.808 billion — exceeding its programmed goal of P314.660 billion by P11.148 billion, or 3.5 percent.
It also marked a P19.729 billion increase, or 6.4 percent growth, compared to the same period in 2025.
The record-breaking figures came as the BOC maintained its momentum to reach its trillion-peso target for 2026.
Officials highlighted that the gains were achieved despite persistent external pressures, including the economic impact of the war in the Middle East.
