The corpse of a 7-month-old infant was found buried at a house in Ipoh yesterday (August 28).
In an official statement by PDRM, the corpse was found at a house in Taman Sri Rokam, Ipoh when a man, who is also the new tenant of the house was renovating the place.
“He was digging the ground at the porch and found the body of the infant, which was wrapped in sarong” said PDRM.
According to the Chief Police of Ipoh, Abang Zainal Abidin said they received a report from the man around 12:15 PM. The dead infant was then sent to the forensic department of the Hospital Permaisuri Bainun for post-mortem. The matter is being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code.
PDRM is on the hunt for an Indonesian tenant
In another report, Zainal also said the house was previously rented to an Indonesian woman with a monthly rental of RM400. The woman, however, ran away last month.
The house owner, who also spoke to the police stays in the same area and the house is only a walking distance from where he is currently staying. He also confirmed with PDRM that the previous Indonesian tenant was pregnant.
“The owner always collected the rent from her because she paid in cash. He bought the house 20 years ago and has been renting out the place since then,” Zainal said.
Post-mortem results also showed that the female infant suffered no injuries.
