KOTA KINABALU: A body of a man was found floating near the Bernas rice mill at Sepanggar Bay, here, Saturday.
Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) workers managed to retrieve the body in the 9.50pm discovery.
According to FRD, the body was handed over to the police for further action at 11.53pm.
City police chief ACP Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said the victim is believed to be undocumented judging by the lack of a BCG vaccine scar.
“The body has been sent to Hospital Queen Elizabeth for a post-mortem with the case classified as sudden death,” he said when contacted.
