
KINABATANGAN: A 42-year-old man has been confirmed dead after he was believed to have jumped into a river at Kampung Bilit, Sukau, Sunday.
The victim has been identified as Mohd Zulkarnain Yusuf.
Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station Chief Hairi Utoh said they received an emergency call from Kampung Sukau Police Station at 9.12am reporting an incident involving a man who was seen jumping into the river on June 28 at around 6am.

A search and rescue operation was conducted using water surface searching methods covering three kilometres from where the victim was reported to have jumped.
At 9.45pm on Sunday, the Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue control room received information from members of the public that the victim’s body had been found about 1.5 kilometres from the Kampung Bilit jetty.
The team went to the location and assisted in recovering the victim before handing the body over to police for further action.
